Senior Web Developer at Barrus

We’re looking for a curious, detail-driven Web Developer to help us design, build, and maintain fast, accessible websites for a range of clients. You’ll work closely with designers, project managers, and other developers to turn ideas into clean, scalable code.

What you’ll be doing
- Building responsive, high-performance websites using modern front-end technologies
- Translating designs and wireframes into clean, semantic HTML/CSS
- Developing custom WordPress themes and functionality
- Working with APIs and third-party integrations
- Optimising sites for speed, accessibility, and SEO
- Debugging issues and improving existing codebases
- Collaborating with the wider team to plan and deliver projects on time
What we’re looking for
- Strong experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Solid understanding of PHP and WordPress development
- Experience working with custom themes (ACF experience is a plus 👀)
- Familiarity with Git and modern development workflows
- A good eye for detail and a passion for clean, maintainable code
- Ability to manage your own workload and communicate clearly
Nice to have
- Experience with modern JS frameworks (React, Vue, etc.)
- Knowledge of performance optimisation and accessibility best practices
- Experience working with REST APIs
- Agency or client-facing experience
